Quality Assurance Officer

Moredun Scientific is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance across our Biosafety, Animal Health and Aquaculture programmes. Joining a small, experienced Quality department and working closely with scientific and operational teams, you'll help deliver studies that contribute to the development of innovative products for both human and veterinary use.

• Work across GMP, GLP and VICH-GCP-regulated activities.
• Gain exposure to biosafety, animal health and aquaculture programmes.
• Be part of an organisation supporting international pharmaceutical and animal health clients.
• Develop your expertise through training, audits and cross‑functional projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of quality systems and regulatory compliance.

• Conduct Quality Assurance audits of studies, processes, facilities and suppliers.
• Review protocols, reports, SOPs and quality documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Support management of deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
• Assist with client audits and regulatory inspections.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Quality Management System.

• Degree in a life science or related scientific discipline.
• Experience in Quality Assurance within a GMP-regulated environment.
• A sound knowledge of GMP regulations.
• Experience in the review/auditing of Quality documents such as SOPs, Study Protocols/Data/Reports.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and effective organisational abilities.
• A working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases or other project management systems.
• GLP and/or VICH‑GCP environments.
• Quality Events including Deviations, CAPAs and Change Controls.
• Equipment Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Supplier and subcontractor audits.

The post is based at Pentlands Science Park with occasional travel to conduct off‑site audits.
