Position: Senior Advice Officer - City Chambers
Location: Easter Howgate

Senior Advice Officer – Household Support & Advice Team

City Chambers

Salary: £40,501 – £47,639

Hours:

36 per week

Responsibilities

Work with locality-based colleagues to provide specialist casework services in line with Type III of the National Standards for Information & Advice Providers.

Provide specialist advice across money and welfare rights, assist colleagues and service users with all aspects of advice provision, and develop the service to maximise accessibility and impact.

Collaborate closely with others across the Council and with creditors, the Department for Work and Pensions, Social Security Scotland, voluntary and statutory services, and NHS provision.

Deliver person‑centred, outcome‑focused interventions to all age groups to tackle inequality, poverty and maintain tenancies, requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Contribute to the Council’s prevention and early intervention approaches to addressing poverty and homelessness as part of a wider service area.

Execute on‑the‑job training and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and development.

Qualifications & Requirements

Possess a Basic Disclosure; preferred candidates must obtain this before a formal offer is made.

Provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check if you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more abroad in the last 5 years.
