Waldorf Middle​/Upper School Teacher Italy; Short-Term Stay

Would you like to spend a month or more exploring life in rural northern Italy while sharing your teaching gifts?

We are looking for an experienced Waldorf grades or upper school teacher to provide 1:1 tutoring for a 15-year-old student (English mother tongue) who has some learning challenges.

• Deliver Waldorf Main Lesson blocks (Grades 7–9 content, adapted to the student’s needs).
• A small number of additional subject lessons will also be required.
• Student profile, year plan and family coordination will be provided.
• Opportunities for field trips across Italy (supported financially) to enrich learning.
• Commitment:
  15–20 hours per week

• Duration: 3–4 weeks per block (longer stays possible if teaching multiple blocks).

The setting is in Montaldo, a village in the Monferrato nestled between Turin and Milan, with Lakes Como & Garda, the Ligurian coast, and the Alps all within a 2–3 hour drive.

The Village Forest School, our Waldorf-inspired bilingual nature school, has been thriving here for 5 years. We do not yet have an upper school, so this rolling programme allows us to meet our oldest student’s needs while offering guest teachers a unique opportunity to experience our region, school and community.

• Private one-bedroom studio in a traditional village house, recently renovated within 5 minutes walk of the student's learning space. Includes a fully-equipped kitchen, living room, bathroom, separate bedroom, and a courtyard garden (the garden is shared with a Village Forest School family).
• Monthly stipend: €500 (to cover the cost of food)
• Travel contribution: up to €250 towards travel to Montaldo
• Car access for groceries, local trips, and potentially weekend trips (drivers preferred)
• A vibrant, welcoming community of local families, teachers, and international visitors.
