THE ROLEYou’d be working within the Humanoid & Human Centred Mechatronics Research Unit at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group with strong expertise in robot design, modelling and control of new mechatronics components. The Humanoid & Human Centred Mechatronics Research Line is coordinated by Nikos Tsagarakis, who has extensive experience in Robotics and Mechatronics. The research concentrates on robot design exploring state of art design approaches (structural, actuation and transmission systems) combined with advancements in control including whole body loco-manipulation generation, balancing regulation and teleoperation control.
We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic Junior Electrical/Electronic Assembly Engineer with interests in realizing assembling and troubleshooting of electrical/electronic subsystems for customized robotic systems. The selected candidate will be in charge of the electronics and electrical subsystems assembly, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance of a new robotic platform under development within the Humanoid and Human Centered Mechatronics Research line.
ESSENTIALREQUIREMENTS
- Excellent hands-on skills in the assembly of electrical and electronic parts and preparation of customized power and communication cables to fully assemble novel customized robot prototypes.
- Very good experience in inspection and evaluation of electrical and electronic hardware issues and electrical/Electronic maintenance and troubleshooting of robot prototypes.
- Very good understanding of the operation of standard electrical/electronic workshop equipment and tools such as soldering station tools, crimping tools, multi-meter and oscilloscope devices for preparation and testing of customized wiring and connector arrangements.
- Very good experience in understanding and working with electrical drawings and experience in the generation of Electrical/Electronic documentation and maintenance manuals.
- Interaction skills with electronics fabrication workshops and evaluation of manufacturers and suppliers for the fabrication of nonstandard PCB components.
- Experience in the maintenance of electrical/electronic workshop tools and components.
- Knowledge of Electrical/Electronic circuit design software tools (ECAD) is welcome and will be a plus.
- Experience in using standard electronics/electrical equipment
