About the roleWe’re seeking a skilled Medical Copywriter with a strong background in healthcare communications to transform scientific content into engaging, promotional materials. You will collaborate closely with design teams and pharmaceutical clients to produce high‑quality copy that meets brand objectives while complying with medical, regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.
What you’ll do- Content Creation: Develop and maintain copy for digital assets (banner ads, email campaigns, iDetail aids, websites, social media posts) and print materials (patient guidelines, congress materials, brochures).
- Referencing and Accuracy: Lead the referencing process, ensuring all content is medically accurate and based on the latest literature and data.
- Scientific Translation: Translate complex medical and scientific data into clear, concise, audience‑appropriate language for healthcare professionals, patients, and payers.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with internal teams (design, strategy, brand, account management, production, project management) to align messaging and creative output. - Creative Campaign Involvement: Participate in concept development, ideation, and occasional multimedia or motion‑based projects; handle multiple projects across therapeutic areas with tight deadlines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all content aligns with relevant regulatory frameworks for the market (e.g., UK, France, Italy).
- Best Practice Adherence: Follow internal best practices in communication, documentation, editorial standards, language use, content structure, and referencing methodology.
- Engagement and Training: Participate in client meetings, internal briefings, training sessions, and workshops as needed; use approved generative AI tools under editorial control for first‑draft copywriting and ideation.
- Quality and Confidentiality: Uphold strict standards for quality, confidentiality, and data security; adhere to all relevant quality systems, policies, processes, and compliance training.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an in‑house creative team or agency setting, working with pharmaceutical sector clients.
- Awareness of relevant regulations and familiarity with therapy areas such as rare diseases, respiratory and immunology, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic, and oncology.
- Degree or master’s in a healthcare‑related field (or equivalent qualification) preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Translation ability: translate content from English to either French or Italian.
- Strong passion and talent for writing, conceptual thinking, and knowledge of the digital communication landscape.
- Experience in SEO copywriting is a strong advantage.
- Skills in stakeholder engagement, building relationships, and networking.
- Continuous learning mindset for deepening knowledge of therapeutic areas.
- Problem‑solving, detail‑oriented, organized, deadline‑driven, and able to multitask across projects.
- Client‑service mindset with a commitment to building long‑term partnerships.
- Proven project management and ability to deliver work on time while managing competing priorities.
- Previous experience in a large, multinational, matrixed organization is a plus.
- Fluency in English and either French or Italian; location within commuting distance of Hamburg preferred for occasional on‑site meetings.
