The activity of the selected candidates will be the identification of novel genome editing tools (CRISPR or RNA guided nuclease) for gene therapy applications. In particular genome editing tools will be selected against for specific sequences for the treatment of genetic diseases generated by gain of function mutations where the allelic discrimination is fundamental. The new systems will be optimized by using directed evolution platforms
