Offer Description
The programme is aimed at developing methodologies for the design of advanced thermal management systems for electronic devices. Activities include a critical literature review and conceptual development of systems based on heat pipes and phase change materials (PCM). This will be followed by the definition of heat pipe technical specifications through thermo-physical characterization and dedicated modelling. A lumped-parameter thermal model will be implemented for integrated system simulations, including transient analyses and assessment under critical operating conditions.
Alternative thermal management strategies will be quantitatively evaluated in terms of performance, reliability, mass impact, and compatibility with application constraints. The programme will conclude with the preparation of the final thermal design, technical documentation, and support for scientific dissemination activities.
The public call with detailed attendance and selection rules (Art 4 and
8) can be found at: http://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). The selections are open to candidates, Italian or foreigner, in possession, on the date of the deadline for submitting applications for the admission to the selection, of a master's degree or single-cycle degree obtained no more than six years previously are eligible to participate in the selection process. These degrees must be relevant to the subject of the research activity.
Further specific assessable qualifications (see Art. 1 1 Call for applications): we are looking for candidates with an interesting profile in terms of maturity, motivation and ability to integrate theoretical training and practical application, who demonstrate a certain involvement in project and research activities, both in national and international contexts, which testify to a natural aptitude for innovation, teamwork and complex problem solving.
Experience in research and development teams, in multidisciplinary projects and in master's theses that demonstrate an excellent aptitude for experimental research and, in particular, numerical modelling, is a positive characteristic.
IT and simulation skills, combined with organisational and communication skills (also acquired through tutoring and teaching activities), complete the required profile.
