The objective of the research program is to demonstrate the feasibility of using steelmaking slag as aggregates for the production of durable and sustainable concrete, capable of meeting different market requirements in terms of mechanical performance and durability. The properties of concretes produced with aggregates derived from steelmaking slag will be compared with those of concretes made with natural aggregates. In particular, the concretes will be characterized with reference to compressive strength, carbonation penetration, and chloride penetration.
Different replacement ratios of natural aggregates with steelmaking slag will be considered in order to evaluate the impact on the performance and durability of the material.
Oral test aimed at ascertaining candidates’ aptitude and suitability to carry out the research activity covered by the Fellowship, as well as at assessing their knowledge of English and/or other languages relevant to the research activities to be performed (up to 60 points)
