The research associated with this assignment will focus on the identification and characterization of conjugative resistance and virulence plasmids in isolates from clinical, animal, and environmental settings. The presence of additional mobile elements, such as transposons, insertion sequences, and pathogenicity islands, will also be investigated. The research will involve the use of bioinformatics pipelines to analyze sequences obtained from Pac Bio and/or Nanopore sequencing, and the management of phylogenetic analyses comparing international plasmids, in order to identify the spread pathways of mobile elements globally and across different ecological niches
