The Senior Software Engineer will be developing innovative platform services for the transportation domain se services will seamlessly integrate with Trimble Cloud core platform services and offer transportation platform APIs for a range of transportation products and applications. As we establish new teams and develop new platform services, our forward-thinking approach aims to build a robust foundation for Trimble's transportation products.

This role will be part of one of the platform services taking full ownership of the service development and maintenance.

• Contribute to the architecture, design and development of a strong foundation of platform services for domain specific products that are scalable, performant, and flexible to accommodate new consumer requirements.

• Be creative and innovative to identify and apply solutions to the problem space and SDLC

• Take comprehensive responsibility for the service, overseeing its development, testing, deployment, operations and maintenance

• Follow best practices and ensure code coverage, CI/CD and meet security compliance requirements

• Be an excellent team player building strong relationships within the team and with cross-functional teams, following best practices for collaboration. Working with globally distributed teams

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field

• Strong experience in developing services in Java, Spring, Spring boot using maven/gradle

• Experience developing in event driven architecture

• Experience developing cloud agnostic and cloud native services.

• Strong design skills to design more generic services that are extensible

• Strong coding skills developing high quality reusable code and providing effective code reviews

• Innovative mind-set and eager to learn and contribute using next gen technologies

• Professional skills in communicating in English working with International teams

• Languages:

  Spring, Spring Boot, Gradle, REST API

• CI/CD:
  Docker, Kubernetes, Git Hub Actions, Argo CD

• Database:
  Postgre
  
  SQL, Mongo
  
  DB, or any RDBMS + No
  
  SQL experience

• Cloud:
  Azure or any cloud experience

• Message Broker:
  Kafka or any message broker and any event-driven architecture experience

Prior experience building authentication, authorization services and API gateway

Frontend development experience with REACT, HTML, CSS, Java Script
