Job ScopeA leading biology research company in rapid expansion seeks a Senior Procurement Manager. The role focuses on designing strategies for optimal cost control, enhancing vendor management, achieving significant cost savings, and improving procurement sourcing and efficiency. Responsibilities include delivering insights to the executive team, standardizing business methodologies, evaluating procurement processes, and identifying improvement areas.
Responsibilities- Lead the purchasing department's financial performance, focusing on cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Address complex issues by focusing on the needs of internal and external stakeholders to enhance sourcing and procurement processes, in line with global initiatives.
- Align the Purchasing team's goals with organizational objectives, emphasizing vendor management, cost savings, and effective sourcing.
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to improve terms, reduce costs, ensure quality, and mitigate risks.
- Maintain strong relationships with key managers to understand their needs and facilitate process improvements.
- Offer expertise in bid management and pre-tender processes, ensuring strategic procurement sourcing.
- Develop policies for supplier performance review against contracts and business requirements.
- Resolve supplier-related issues in collaboration with global procurement teams.
- Develop, review KPIs, manage hiring, staff training, and performance evaluations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 10 years of procurement experience, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with the biotech or pharmaceutical industries, especially those akin to GenScript Biotech.
- Proven ability to negotiate with vendors for favorable terms and cost reductions, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, evaluating and qualifying suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and supply reliability.
- Proficiency in supply chain planning, forecasting demand, and managing inventory lead time to meet business needs.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of setting clear visions and strategies.
- Excellent technical skills, proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and S2P/SAP systems.
- Experience in leading multi-cultural teams, valuing diversity, and navigating global business dynamics.
- GMP Biopharma manufacturing purchasing experience desirable.
- Experience with contract development and execution.
- Data-driven decision maker.
