As NY/NJ Area Wastewater Market Sector Lead, you will:

• Lead growth and development in the wastewater market within New York and New Jersey, including wastewater treatment, effluent management, pump stations, pipelines, biosolids, and collaborative water initiatives.
• Develop and execute business development strategies, pursue new clients and projects, manage client relationships, oversee project delivery, provide technical input, and develop staff.
• Work directly with clients and staff, collaborate with technical and marketing teams, lead key pursuits, and serve as a client manager for major clients.

This sector is highly technical and diversified, serving local municipalities, private entities, water utilities, and government agencies across the US and Canada. HDR ranks sixth in water supply and treatment according to ENR, with nearly 335 employees offering a broad range of services.

Support market assessment, tailor strategies to capture new clients, expand market share, and foster cross-sector collaborations on issues like climate resiliency, sustainability, and environmental justice.

• Align with HDR’s vision to become industry leader, translating national drivers into local strategies.
• Build relationships with clients, industry organizations, and internal teams to promote HDR’s services and reputation.
• Participate in industry leadership roles and community organizations.

Enhance practices for market success and staff growth through leadership, mentoring, recruitment, and identifying new technical opportunities.

Assist in project delivery, promote resource sharing, oversee contract reviews, and support quality assurance initiatives.

• Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field; PE license in NY/NJ preferred.
• 10+ years in wastewater planning, design, and construction.
• Strong client relationships and technical expertise in wastewater systems.
• Proven leadership in business development, staff growth, and industry engagement.

Salary range: $182,613 - $260,875 (NY);
Locations include Woodcliff Lake, Newark, New York City, White Plains, and Pennington.
