Lighting Designer 2 – HDR

As a Lighting Designer II, you will work closely with project teams on all aspects of architectural lighting design, from initial concept to construction documentation. You will lead lighting calculations, energy and economic analyses, and building certification compliance. Your work will directly support high‑performance data centers, dynamic commercial spaces, and other cutting‑edge facilities.

• Work with project teams on the art, science, and business of architectural lighting design.
• Train and provide guidance to maintain CAD/model production standards.
• Support design presentation and construction documentation production, including lighting calculations, energy and economic calculations, building certification compliance credits, and CAD/model production.
• Develop and build working relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Support marketing efforts, development of qualification packages, and industry leadership.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) through IALD
• Master’s degree in Architectural Lighting or Architectural Engineering specializing in Lighting Design
• PE license
• Experience in Healthcare, Science and Technology, Federal, Entertainment, Corporate Commercial, and Civic sectors
• LEED, WELL, and/or EDAC accreditation
• Proficiency in Sketch Up, 3DS Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Rhino, Grasshopper, DIVA, iRay, Lumion
• Local candidates preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering specializing in Lighting Design or a closely related field.
• 5 years of experience devoted to architectural lighting design.
• Lighting Certified (LC) through the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) or the ability to attain it.
• Member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and/or Associate of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).
• Strong computer skills using AGI
  32, eLumtools, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in sustainable design.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and work effectively both individually and within a team.

Compensation ranges depend on skills, experience, education, and location; examples include $85,974–$122,820 (Pens, PA) and $93,450–$133,500 (NYC).
