Position: MRI Technologist - Full Time - Hopewell

MRI Technologist - Full Time - Hopewell at Capital Health (US)

Pay Range

$40.19 – $60.37 per hour

Position Overview
  • Provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards and acts as a resource to radiography students and other technologists to ensure optimal patient care and efficient departmental operations.
  • Available for on‑call (60‑minute response time), holiday, and weekend work when required.
  • Demonstrates competency in correctly sending images to PACS and following the image QC process.
  • Accurately identifies patients and files, preventing mislabeled images and films; enters written and electronic data accurately in comments to assist radiologists.
  • Understands venipuncture techniques for intravenous contrast media administration.
  • Applies Magnetic Resonance Imaging principles, anatomy, positioning, and technique to obtain optimal imaging studies.
  • Observes proper protection and safety processes for patients and staff in high‑strength magnetic fields, using guard rails, shielding, and patient monitoring.
  • Completes ancillary tasks to maintain efficient and consistent departmental operations; assists physicians in performing studies per standard protocols.
  • Provides excellent patient care, recognizing and resolving clinical or emergent problems that could interfere with exams.
  • Adheres to department policies and protocols to ensure studies are optimized for interpretation.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Graduate from an accredited Radiology program or an accredited MRI program; obtain ARRT MRI certification or ARMRIT certification within one year of hire.
  • Experience:

    Previous MRI experience preferred.
  • Credentials: AHA BLS – Healthcare Provider.
  • Knowledge and

    Skills:

    Basic computer skills; effective verbal and written communication.
  • Training:
    Verifiable hours working on MRI machines, Siemens preferred; successful completion of venipuncture training within six months of employment.
  • Behavior:
    Ability to handle high‑pressure atmosphere performing sophisticated exams on state‑of‑the‑art equipment.
  • Usual Work Day: 8 hours.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Frequent:
    Standing, walking, carrying objects, push/pull, reaching forward, overhead, pinching/fine motor activities, keyboard use/repetitive motion.
  • Occasional:
    Sitting, climbing stairs or ladders, twisting, bending, squatting/kneeling/crawling, wrist position deviation.
  • Continuous:
    Talking or hearing.
  • Lifting:
    Floor to waist 40 lbs; waist level and above 40 lbs.
  • Sensory requirements:
    Accurate near vision, accurate far vision, color discrimination, depth perception, hearing.
  • Occupational exposure risks:
    Bloodborne pathogens, airborne communicable diseases, extreme noise levels.

The pay range reflects a good‑faith determination of potential base compensation that may change over time. Base salary is influenced by location, experience, education, credentials, negotiations and market data. Bonus or incentive eligibility is role and level dependent.
