Job Description

Position Overview
- Answers scheduling calls quickly while minimizing time customers are on hold.
- Collaborates with physician’s office to schedule cases while negotiating date and time and avoiding resource conflicts.
- Gathers complete patient and procedure information and enters data accurately into database. Obtains and advises patients of all necessary pre-certification and referrals needed for financial reimbursement.
- Completes MSP form timely and accurately. Understands and utilizes the necessary software program to determine "medical necessity" prior to scheduling a Medicare patient.
- Informs all patients of pre-registration option and pre-registers all patients when information is obtainable.
- Ensures that all appropriate staff, patients, departments, and external resources are notified of additions, changes, and cancellations.
- Verifies all authorizations are obtained twenty‑four hours before date of service.
- Follows out‑of‑network procedures.
- Adheres to CH attendance policy as well as interdepartmental policies and procedures.
- Attends all mandatory departmental meetings.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalency. - Experience:
One year of call center or customer service experience assisting patients within a hospital or medical environment. - Knowledge and
Skills:
Working knowledge of medical terminology. Displays strong customer service and communication skills to properly assist patients' needs. - Special Training:
Strong attention to detail. - Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities:
Ability to multi‑task and navigate between systems simultaneously. Ability to handle a large volume of incoming calls. Manages time and works well in a fast‑paced environment.

Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Accurate Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing. - Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks:
Bloodborne Pathogens, Airborne Communicable Disease, Dust/Particulate Matter.

Pay
: $18.57 – $26.98 per hour.
Scheduled weekly hours
: 40 hours.
