The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full‑time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part‑time).
- Pay Range: $18.57 - $26.98

Hours:
40 - Position Overview: Shift: 3:00pm‑11:30pm
- Demonstrates understanding and proficiency of the use of the Ava Sys Tele Sitter Solution software for 1:1 patient safety monitoring. Ability to demonstrate adequate knowledge of protocols, principles, and practical application in order to work independently.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the appropriate care to this patient population based on the patient's individual treatment plan as delegated by the RN staff.
- Maintains visual observation at all times. Verbally redirects the patient over digital 2‑way audio device that is in patient room. Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
- Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of EEG Long Term Monitoring.
- Recognizes signs and symptoms of seizures and promptly communicates with nurse on unit.
- Initiates an RRT if situation warrants.
- Participates in hand‑off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment. Arranges meal break times with supervisor and informs manager / relief personnel prior to leaving monitoring station for any reason so that relief may be provided to ensure constant patient observation.
- Provides patient with explanations as necessary, but does not counsel or provide opinions. Demonstrates behaviors in line with Service Excellence.
- Seeks help or advice as soon as possible when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others. Participates in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues. Assures patient environment safety. Seeks assistance with removal of any potential safety hazard from room and reports findings to Charge Nurse.
- Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and department safety programs.
- Must be able to renew validation of skills competency on an annual basis.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: One year prior experience as a Patient Care Assistant or equivalent in an acute care or equivalents skill in long‑term care setting.

Ability to communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset. Basic computer operation skills. Basic Microsoft Windows experience. Efficiency in multitasking. Ability to prioritize simultaneous situations. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to successfully deal with and troubleshoot problems. - Special Training: Skills and competency training on the Ava Sys Tele Sitter software/hardware.
- Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Capable of continuous monitoring of up to 15 patients on one screen at one time and remaining alert while on duty.
