Position Title: LEAD TECHNOLOGY ADVOCATE – PENNINGTON, NJ
Salary: $68,000–$75,000 / year

Job Summary: As the Lead Technology Advocate you will oversee the daily operation, coordination, execution, and support of the audiovisual systems and requirements of executive, educational, and routine meetings in a fast‑paced, customer‑service‑focused conference center environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee testing, maintenance, asset management, operation, and teardown of audiovisual (AV) and video conference (VTC) equipment, including projectors, computers, audio‑ and video‑conference gear, microphones, video cameras and integrated AV systems.
  • Provide best‑effort assistance to fulfill any audiovisual technical requirements as assigned.
  • Submit monthly reports containing room usage data, open action items, equipment maintenance, and upcoming preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain the process used to create trouble tickets, customer issue resolution logs, and asset management.
  • Execute all aspects of video conference support including call setup, end‑user training, troubleshooting, and escalation of issues.
  • Consult and educate all levels of end users on presentation technologies.
  • Troubleshoot audiovisual and videoconferencing‑related technology (projectors, control systems, audio, and videoconferencing).
  • Maintain conference room integrity.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance checks (e.g., report or address cable management issues, safety standard noncompliance).
  • Escalate housekeeping and technical issues outside of AV and conferencing technology to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain an understanding of current and emerging presentation technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three to five years of audiovisual technology management experience.
  • Three to five years of AV and presentation technologies experience.
  • Three to five years of customer service experience.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting of AV and videoconferencing technology.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Lync, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to facilitate tasks with internal and external staff to ensure meeting and event success.
  • Understanding of normal business and office procedures.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced university/conference center environment.
  • Self‑motivated, independent thinker.
  • A CTS certification by Info Comm.
  • Industry‑relevant training or technical courses a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with commercial/institutional building design and construction, including typical building systems (HVAC, electrical, lighting, building controls, security).
