Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base Pay Range

$16.50/hr - $18.00/hr

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service and recommend items for sale, including trade‑up and companion items.
• Register customer purchases, collect cash, process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges, and assist customers in locating products.
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, maintain records, check in and price merchandise, and perform duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling, workflow, and pharmacy system entry, fill prescriptions, verify medicine, check for interactions, and report prescription errors.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
• Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services, perform clerical duties, assist with inventory management, and maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise.
• Assist in separation of food items, stock rotation, and restocking.
• Provide customer service in photo and print areas, assist with web pick‑up, and maintain store appearance.
• Comply with all company policies, maintain respectful relationships with coworkers, and complete special assignments.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification.
• Attend training, complete required PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits, maintaining knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
