Oracle Exadata Developer

Location:

Pennington, New Jersey (Onsite)

Role Overview This role involves the development, maintenance, and support of Oracle Exadata, Python, and Hadoop-based applications within a global markets technology environment. The position will work with an enterprise platform that hosts large volumes of trade, position, and reference data. This data supports critical business functions, including credit risk, margin, regulatory compliance, client valuations, treasury, and finance.

Key Responsibilities Contribute to design discussions with the development team.

Adhere to team processes, including test-driven development and source code control practices.

Interact directly with users when troubleshooting production system issues.

Develop, maintain, and support Oracle Exadata, Python, and Hadoop-based applications.

Work with large volumes of trade, position, and reference data to support various business functions.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, with over 10 years preferred. This includes at least 5 years in an Oracle Exadata development role with Python within a financial institution. Proven experience working with cross-functional, global teams in a fast-paced environment is necessary.

Technical

Skills:

Strong PL/SQL coding and Oracle performance analysis skills.

API development experience with Python is mandatory.

Working experience with big data platforms like Hadoop is required.

Deep expertise in adhering to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process is mandatory.

Familiarity with AI concepts and modern data platforms is beneficial.

Experience using project management and project reporting tools.

Additional

Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills are required. A solid understanding of the investment banking domain is a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the trade lifecycle, risk management processes, and front-to-back office flows.

Experience delivering complex, regulatory-driven projects.

Demonstrated competencies in business acumen, innovation, and creative problem-solving.

A track record of delivering business results, including client relationship management, analytical rigor, execution excellence, and change leadership.
