Position Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for operation of the switchboard and paging system, answering all incoming calls, redirecting them as needed, greeting visitors, providing directions, and supporting clerical activities.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Prepares timecards and distributes them to appropriate departments
  • Collates medical charts
  • Orders supplies in accordance with procedures and budget allocations
  • Compiles reports and types general or technical material
  • Maintains current lists of residents, telephone numbers, department extensions, key personnel, physician kardex, and mail cards
  • Coordinates outgoing and incoming mail to facility
  • Ensures residents and families receive highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere
  • Performs other duties as requested
  • Qualifications
    • High school degree or equivalent; college/business school coursework preferred
    • Experience with medical terminology preferred
    • Ability to read, write and understand the English language

  • Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test
