2nd Shift Book Binding Machine Operator

Location: Pennsauken, NJ

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (5 days, 40 hours, occasional overtime)

Pay: $20.05 - $24.51 per hour (Band
2). Higher levels may be eligible for higher pay based on experience.

• Follow all safety procedures at all times, including lock‑out/tag‑out procedures during cleaning or maintenance.
• Retrieve and load materials, prepare jobs for conversion, and operate production equipment for printing, laminating, cutting, end sheet fabrication, perfect binding, case making, casing binding, and associated support equipment.
• Communicate orally or in writing about process changes and equipment failures.
• Monitor product quality and report all variations to the manager.
• Participate in Lean and continuous‑improvement events and initiatives.
• Work in a manner that aligns with DIY’s values.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of machine operation experience.
• Prior book‑manufacturing equipment experience (printing, binding, or finishing) is preferred.
• Ability to understand and use Basic English (spoken and written).
• Basic mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals).
• Understanding of Standard/Imperial and optional metric measurements; basic measuring instruments (micrometers, digital calipers, tape measure).
• Organizational skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to earn pallet jack certification with training provided by DIY.

• Standing/walking for the entire shift.
• Extended periods of repetitive motion.
• Walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
