This is a full-time on-site role for an Accountant at J.R. Helms & Associates, P.C. The role involves accounting and payroll support and providing financial and accounting expertise to clients on a daily basis in Indianapolis, IN.

• Client/Coworker Communications
• Assisting with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits
• Supporting month-end and year-end close
• Preparing financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts
• Researching and correcting account discrepancies
• Data Entry & Analysis
• Tax Preparation for Personal, Business, and Non-Profit

• Entry Level Staff Accountant
  • Client-facing communications are solely for administrative purposes.
  • Focuses on personal development and learning, receiving mentorship and guidance from more experienced accountants.
• Staff Accountant
  • Client-facing communications intended to serve clients in the practice areas which have been assigned.
  • May provide informal mentorship to entry-level staff and interns.
• Senior Accountant
  • Client-facing communications aimed at addressing all practice areas with comprehensive knowledge of interconnected consulting topics.
  • Takes on formal leadership roles, related to setting firm policy.
