- Ensure the integrity of internal and external financial reports and the general ledger and in conformance to GAAP.
- Contribute towards a timely monthly and annual hard close process including completion of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Monitor cash activity
- Prepare working papers and financial reports for internal and external use, including various audits and external agencies.
- Performs drawdowns of Title III and Title IV funds and reconciles transactions to the general ledger.
- Liaise with Office of Sponsored Research & Programs to set up grant budgets.
- Monitor grant activities, perform associated invoicing to grant sponsors, perform draw of funds, and reconciles grant receivables.
- Review departmental and grant budgets and approve requisitions as appropriate.
- Provide assistance to other Business Office departments as needed and all other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree and three years' related experience required.
- Five years of related experience in an educational finance environment preferred.
- Must communicate effectively with people from varied social, educational, and economic backgrounds.
- Must be able to work without constant supervision, make decisions, and have good judgment.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functionality.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to organize.
- Must have excellent mathematical, verbal and written skills.
- Knowledge of EDP-oriented accounting systems and proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must have a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body m ability to stoop, kneel, bendand reach.
WORKING CONDITIONSWork is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible scheduling including evening and weekend work. Travel for administrative work is expected. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions; protection from weather changes, but not necessarily temperature conditions.
