Baldwin Management, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Family Office Branch Manager to support the Managing Director of the Family Office division in managing the preparation of Individual and Corporate Tax Returns, along with managing the accounting activities and tax planning initiatives for our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, past leadership experience and desire to manage a small team of Tax and Accounting Associates, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the branch to ensure efficiency, profitability, and exceptional client service, while implementing branch goals and financial objectives.

Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate junior members of the team.

Prepare and review Federal, State, and local Individual income tax returns.

Prepare and review Federal, State, and local Corporate income tax returns.

Prepare and review estimated tax payments on a quarterly basis to ensure that clients with large income variances are planned for effectively

Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues, and communicate this information to clients either remotely or in-person

Resolve any tax audits or tax notices that may arise on a Federal or State level.

Review and optimize financial statements to identify tax implications and tax planning opportunities.

Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.

Communicate with clients daily via email, phone calls, and/or in-person meetings, as the need arises

Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities to expand the client base and increase revenue.

Coordinate with senior management on operational performance, staffing, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
CPA or EA certification strongly preferred (or actively pursuing).
5 to 8 years of Individual and Corporate tax preparation experience
2 to 5 years of Supervisor/Manager experience in the Accounting industry
Proficiency with Proseries tax preparation software
Proficiency with Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online accounting software
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong and tested leadership qualities
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong Professional judgement and independence in tax planning situations
Ability to explain complex tax and accounting topics to clients and junior staff
Ability to mentor staff on tax and accounting software input
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and collaboration across teams
High level of integrity and commitment to fiduciary standards
