Staff Accountant

Reporting to the Assistant Controller INSCO, the Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role on LIO's finance team, contributing to the management of financial transactions, preparing comprehensive financial reports, and ensuring strict adherence to accounting principles and company policies.

• Prepare and record journal entries and supporting documentation for various accounting transactions.
• Perform bank and other general ledger account reconciliations, addressing reconciling items as necessary.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Process and record all insurance entity-related receipts and disbursements, including premium payments, commission disbursements, and return premiums
  
  Prepare invoices for agency receivables and deductible recoveries, and maintain accurate records of open receivables and aging.
• Assist with regulatory compliance and reporting, including tax filings, and support internal and external audit requests.
• Maintain effective internal controls contributing to an environment of audit-readiness, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and show excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational ability.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Workday, Excel)

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 1-2 years of general accounting experience.
• Insurance accounting experience is a plus.
