PROTECS is hiring! We are looking for a talented Project Superintendent to join the PROTECS team in our Plymouth Meeting, PA headquarters location.

Responsibilities
  • Be the PROTECS representative with the responsibility and authority for daily coordination and direction of the project so that it is safe, within budget, on schedule, in accordance with quality standards, and meets the customer s satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute a plan to construct the project and ensure that daily and weekly activities are aligned with this plan in a safe and professional manner.
  • Coordinate day-to-day and week-to-week activities with schedule updates, project management issues, production, and reporting.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for subcontractor site operations, safety, means and methods, progress, quality, schedule progress and tracking, job coordination, and manpower accommodations to ensure steady work progress.
  • Ensure coordination of trades, sub toolbox talks, site safety training, lift plan operations, daily planning and safety analysis, and appropriate documentation (RFIs, transmittals, logs, drawings, etc.).
  • Lead/direct assistant staff members and participate in sub PM meetings, foreman meetings, and owner meetings as required.
  • Maintain field documentation, as-builts, lay-out work conformity with project documents, and manage project risk through proper means and methods.
  • Coordinate programming with site plant personnel and maintain relationships with site plant personnel.
  • Resolve field coordination issues and ensure timely completion of work, including punch list development and subcontractor completion.
Requirements

5+ years as an assistant superintendent or field project engineer level or equivalent field experience and degree or educational training. Experience is relevant only from a Design/Build or construction management firm specializing in highly technical projects, such as life science or medical device.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and capability to successfully execute projects in excess of $5MM
  • Knowledge of field risk management and risk mitigation
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to evaluate the project from different viewpoints
  • Growing knowledge and understanding of industry specifics for life sciences and advanced technology
  • Means and methods knowledge with cost and schedule recognition
  • Project database and procedural knowledge
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Sage/Timberline, Procore and other project related software
Typical Activities
  • Maintains overall responsibility for subcontractor site operations, safety, means, methods, progress, quality, schedule progress and tracking, job coordination, and manpower accommodations
  • Ensure coordination of trades and proper safety trainings
  • Maintain daily logs, JPSAs, safety records, RFIs, transmittals, and other project field documentation
  • Progress photos and drawings updates; manage punch lists and as-built documentation
  • Lead and coordinate with field staff, attend weekly owner meetings, and provide field sketches and drawings as needed
  • Ensure site logistics and scheduling are adhered to and that work is installed per design and approved submittals
  • Manage field issues and RFI matters to ensure timely completion
  • Other tasks as required to complete the project
