Our client is a fast-growing operator in the commercial door, dock, and access-control space, handling everything from single-door repairs to full commercial installations across Michigan.

• A highly visible role — your estimates directly shape whether a job is profitable before a single tool is picked up.
• Close collaboration with sales, project management, and the field team.
• A growth-oriented environment with room to build the estimating function as the branch scales.

You start the day reviewing a set of plans for an upcoming commercial installation, working through a material takeoff. Mid-morning, you're on a call with the sales rep to align on scope before a proposal goes out. After lunch, you finalize pricing on a bid due that afternoon, then review a site-visit report from a technician to refine an estimate on a more complex repair job.

• Review blueprints, schematics, and site information to develop accurate project scopes.
• Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial door, dock, and access-control projects.
• Collaborate with sales on proposal development and pricing strategy.
• Track bid outcomes and refine estimating accuracy over time.
• Coordinate with project management and field teams to ensure estimates translate into deliverable scopes.

• Prior estimating experience in construction, commercial doors, dock equipment, or a closely related trade.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with estimating or takeoff software.

• Specific commercial door or dock equipment estimating experience.
• Familiarity with ERP/FSM systems (Net Suite, Service Titan, or similar).

Strong estimators are well-positioned to grow into project management or sales-support leadership roles as the branch's project volume increases.
