Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of dentistry. Possession of a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry. Basic computer skills to include, but not limited to Microsoft Office Products. Will also be required to document dental treatment information into the electronic health record system utilized by the Department of Corrections.
Role DescriptionProvide professional dental services involving dental care and treatment to offenders at Quehanna Boot Camp. The Dentist will provide routine and emergency dental services 5 days per week from 0700 am — 1530 pm (8 hours per day with a half‑hour unpaid lunch). The position will work from the main clinic located in the Medical Department at Quehanna Boot Camp. The Contractor shall abide by all Department of Corrections rules and regulations while on State Property.
All vendors or their subcontractors must submit clearance checks and attend orientation on security, tool control and PREA before entering the facility.
- Chart review and any necessary paperwork.
- Examine teeth and gums for infections and diseases.
- Diagnose and treat diseases and lesions.
- Prepare and fill cavities with appropriate materials.
- Extract teeth when deemed necessary.
- Administer anesthetics when necessary.
- Prepare, fit, adjust, and finish dental prosthetic devices.
