Job Description Content Development Specialist - The Lynch School of Education and Human Development

The Content Development Specialist is responsible for executing all operations related to website management, social media engagement, and internal and external communications for the Lynch School of Education and Human Development. This role handles requests from faculty, staff, and administrators regarding website changes, announcements, and advertising campaigns and anticipates various routine, ongoing needs regarding website maintenance, academic cycle–related communications, and community building virtual engagements.

Working closely with the Programs Administrator, the Specialist supports events (both in person and virtual), by coordinating media capture, conceptualizing and implementing registration systems, advertising/marketing, creating and disseminating all digital representations of the event, and other tasks, as needed.

The position also collaborates with the Director of Communications & Marketing and University partners (e.g., Assistant Vice Provost for Graduate Enrollment) with implementation of digital marketing. As a versatile team member within the Office of Strategic Initiatives and External Relations, the Specialist contributes to projects across various areas including Urban Outreach Initiatives, Program Innovations, Professional and Continuing Education, and alumni relations.

Responsibilities include content creation for programs, initiatives, and engagement that emerge from each area of the Strategic Initiative office.

Full‑Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $59,400 to $74,250; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in an academic environment, with demonstrated expertise in web technologies.
  • Computer literacy with PC and Mac environments.
  • Experience in web writing, editing, content and communications.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Experience and knowledge of Canva, HTML, CSS, Adobe CC applications (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver) a plus.
  • Motivated to learn new skills: interest in learning new programs and concepts in Internet technology and best practices. Research new web tools, training, assessment and process adoption.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently or as a team member.
