Full-Time/Part-Time Position Summary Penn-Delco School District is seeking a dedicated and reliable Para educator to support a specialized, small-group classroom setting (typically 4 students). Working under the guidance of a certified Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), facilitating academic and behavioral accommodations, and ensuring a supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Instructional Support:
Provide one-on-one or small-group assistance to reinforce learning concepts and help students meet academic and behavioral goals.
* IEP Implementation:
Assist in the delivery of specific accommodations and modifications as mandated by student IEPs.
* Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of student progress, strengths, and challenges; collaborate with the lead teacher to monitor growth.
* Personal Care:
Provide essential support for physical and medical needs, which may include feeding, toileting, and monitoring specific health conditions.
* Confidentiality:
Maintain the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality regarding student records and sensitive information in compliance with FERPA. Performance Expectations
* Professionalism:
Demonstrate punctuality and integrity in all time-reporting.
Please note:
The district maintains a strict one-time warning policy regarding lateness or the falsification of sign-in/sign-out records.
* Collaboration:
Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to foster a positive educational atmosphere.
Required Qualifications & Clearances To be considered for this position, candidates must provide the following:
* Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Background Checks:
* PA State Police Criminal History Record Check ( Act 34 )
* PA Child Abuse History Clearance ( Act 151 )
* Federal Criminal History Record/FBI Fingerprinting ( Act 114 )
* Health:
Valid TB Test results and physical examination.
* Employment History:
Completion of Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release forms (required following hire).
* Documentation:
Updated Resume.
Preferred Qualifications
* Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification.
* Prior experience working with students with special needs in an educational or clinical setting.
