Headquartered in Pennsylvania, TLC operates across multiple states, providing K-12 alternative education, comprehensive mental and behavioral health services, coaching, counseling, and trauma-informed training.

Additionally, TLC collaborates with school districts, universities, hospitals, police departments, and nonprofit organizations, offering consultation services to secure federal and state grant funding

Summary:

The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging physical education lessons that promote students’ physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles. The Physical Education teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where students of different abilities can participate in physical activities and develop lifelong healthy  an open, small classroom environment, the Teacher must demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in serving the individualized instructional needs of the students assigned to the class.

The Teacher must be able to work in a team environment with other Teachers, special education staff, counselors, and social workers. Teacher should possess a high degree of authenticity, kindness, and empathy while effectively maintaining a classroom atmosphere conducive to academic and socioemotional growth.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver physical education lessons aligned with the school curriculum and educational standards.

Teach fundamental movement skills, sports techniques, fitness exercises, and recreational activities.

Organize individual and team sports, games, tournaments, and physical fitness programs.

Assess and monitor students’ physical development, participation, skill acquisition, and progress.

Promote teamwork, discipline, fair play, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Ensure student safety during physical activities and enforce appropriate safety procedures.

Maintain sports equipment, facilities, and instructional materials.

Adapt activities to accommodate students with diverse physical abilities and learning needs.

Encourage healthy habits, physical wellness, and active lifestyles.

Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and performance records.

Collaborate with other teachers, school administrators, parents, and coaches.

Support extracurricular sports activities, school athletic events, and fitness initiatives.

Follow school policies, child safeguarding procedures, and emergency response protocols.

Facilitate Learning Develop a classroom culture where Educator is viewed as “facilitator” of the learning process and not a “lecturer”Plans, prepares and implements lesson plans that facilitate active learning

Provides personalized support to each student to develop learning plans that matches each student’s needs and abilities

Utilizes Project-Based Learning (PBL) techniques
