Location: Leola
As a Designer / Drafter, you’ll work with our talented team of engineers and production supervisors to manufacture a wide variety of industrial storage rack systems: from concept, through design, fabrication, and installation. We hope to add you to our team.
Primary Responsibilities- Design / Drafting (Primary)
- Design and draft structural storage rack component/assembly drawings for customer approval and fabrication
- Check component/assembly drawings created by others per ISO
9001 requirements. - Update existing drawings to incorporate new designs, fabrication processes or best practices.
- Create concept drawings/elevations for quotes to support the sales process.
- Create detailed drawings for standard installation and sales packages.
- Design/model/draft special internal design projects for Manufacturing and Maintenance teams.
- Work with Fabrication team to ensure job drawings are understood and correct. Make modifications as required.
- Quote / Order Processing
- Process quote requests from customers (mostly large or custom projects).
- Convert quotes into order acknowledgments upon receipt of purchase order.
- Enter orders into Sage prior to sending to purchasing/processing for release.
- Answer product questions via email and phone from our customers, salesmen, shop personnel, installation crews.
- Administrative
- Import orders into Sage for big box customer safety program.
- Manually track their inventory based on daily shipments going out and new orders coming in.
- Determine fabrication releases required to replenish their inventory.
- Prepare and attend weekly meetings for On Time Shipping and Open Order Cleanup.
- Reconcile inventory based on adjustments made during company wide monthly inventory.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, CAD or a similar field of study.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Inventor and all MS office programs.
- 3+ years of experience in design and drafting (preferably manufacturing).
- Understand the basics of steel fabrication including punching, fitting, sawing, and welding.
- Able to read weld symbols.
- Able to travel to customer job sites and provide field measuring services with tape measures, plumb bobs, and lasers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills including active listening, critical thinking, and ability to ask questions.
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
