Land Surveyor

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Land Surveyor to support site development, construction, and infrastructure projects from concept through completion. This role involves field data collection, boundary and topographic surveying, and coordination with engineers and designers to produce precise and accurate site documentation. Ideal candidates have a strong technical foundation, field experience, and a commitment to accuracy, teamwork, and continuous professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct field surveys for boundary, topographic, and construction layout using GPS, robotic total stations, and conventional surveying methods.

Perform site reconnaissance, data collection, and control point establishment to support design and engineering teams.

Prepare and review survey maps, plats, and legal descriptions in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

Collaborate with civil engineers, planners, and GIS specialists to integrate survey data into design and modeling workflows.

Maintain and organize field notes, digital data, and project records for accuracy and completeness.

Support the preparation of technical reports, exhibits, and mapping deliverables for clients and stakeholders.

Ensure field and office work complies with safety policies and professional surveying standards.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

2+ years of experience in land surveying, construction layout, or geospatial data collection.

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, Total Station, and data collection software.

Strong understanding of boundary law principles, topographic mapping, and coordinate geometry (COGO).

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

ArcGIS or drone mapping experience a plus.

LSIT or PLS certification (or progress toward licensure) preferred but not required.
