Job Description:
We are looking for a Hardware Engineer who will join the hardware team and develop new products or modules according to EMC standards. With proven experience of the complete Hardware Design Process, this person will interface regularly with other engineering groups (including firmware, software, test and mechanical engineers) and external electronic component suppliers.
Strong organizational skills are required as well as detailed documentation skills.
Position Description /Key Responsibilities:
- Electronic board-level design with Altium.
- Selection and evaluation of components for the new design.
- Circuit design, simulation of electrical circuits with PSpice.
- Draw schematics, BOM’s, PCB layouts, assembly drawings and test procedures for new designs.
- Prototyping of the new design, test, debug and design proving, fault diagnosis.
- Participation in Critical Design Review Process.
- Participation in transfer to production.
- Completed engineering degree in electronics or a related field required.
- 3+ years’ experience in analog/digital Design, background in high‑voltage desired.
- Good/strong experience with CAE PCB layout tools from Altium.
- Basic knowledge in EMC immunity is an advantage.
- Proven experience of complete Hardware Design Process.
- Experience of designing for good EMC performance.
- Working knowledge of design for manufacture, relevant knowledge of designing cost‑optimized products.
- Understands the value of, and can produce, high‑quality documentation.
- Able to quickly learn and self‑teach new skills and technology.
- Maintains a constructive positive attitude in challenging situations.
- Operates effectively under pressure and delivers to agreed timescales.
- Good team player, interested in and able to communicate with other engineering disciplines.
- Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in German is considered a plus.
