Responsibilities- Lead the optimization and scale‑up of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to critical process and formulation attributes.
- Lead technical development of new and marketed products within established timelines for both internal manufacturing sites and contract manufacturing organizations.
- Design and conduct experiments, collect data, and perform analysis to support process optimization and troubleshooting.
- Develop project risk assessments, technical success criteria, target product profiles (TPP), and contingency plans for development activities.
- Provide technical leadership to the BCH enterprise for the assigned technology.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements relevant to the assigned technology.
- Lead the scale‑up of products from lab‑scale to commercial production, following established protocols and procedures.
- Lead technology transfer activities within internal manufacturing sites and contract manufacturing organizations, ensuring successful implementation and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes within the Technical Services function.
- Promote a culture of accountability and ownership for the assigned technology within the COE and collaborate closely with Technical Services teams in other COEs.
- Ensure the Technical Services COE staff has the necessary capacity, capability, and training aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Develop and/or co‑author technical documentation to support launch and regulatory approval of projects (e.g., development plans, development reports, and technical regulatory documentation).
- Attend product research activities to understand consumer feedback on new products.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences) or international equivalent.
- Good understanding of product development processes, critical process parameters, and formula development.
- Experience in scaling up products from lab‑scale to commercial production.
- Knowledge of technology transfer activities is desirable.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to the assigned technology.
- Good project management and prioritization skills.
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Other languages are a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 years of proven experience in process development/scale‑up or a Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent; with +4 years of proven experience in process development/scale‑up, or a Ph.D. with postdoctoral work, or equivalent with +1 year of proven experience.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $84,880.00 - $. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
