As part of our expanding geotechnical team, you’ll deliver accurate, practical, and commercially sound engineering solutions across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and management, progressively stepping into report sign‑off authority, technical leadership, and project ownership, while playing a vital role in strengthening our in‑house capabilities.

What You’ll DoSite Classification Leadership- Review, certify, and sign off Lot/Site Classification reports in accordance with NSW and QLD standards (AS 2870, AS 2159, relevant Australian Standards).
- Maintain a strong focus on technical accuracy, risk management, and constructability.
Deliver and manage a wide range of geotechnical services, including:
- Geotechnical Site Investigations
- Site and footing assessments
- Slope stability analysis
- Pavement design
- Contamination and acid sulfate soil assessments
- Level 1 compaction inspections
- Footing and pier inspections
- Interpret field and laboratory data to produce clear, defensible, client‑focused reports.
- Provide hands‑on technical support to Site Investigators and junior engineers.
- Mentor team members in fieldwork, soil and rock logging, and report preparation.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute feedback to improve systems, processes, and service delivery.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new geotechnical and testing services.
- Support accreditation pathways and capability expansion aligned with business growth.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in investigation methods, reporting templates, and QA systems.
- Support and maintain NATA‑accredited laboratory operations.
- Review and interpret laboratory results, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards.
- Uphold quality assurance and auditing requirements across all testing protocols.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering.
Proven Capability In- Soil and rock (core) logging
- Field investigations and supervision
- Report preparation and technical sign‑off
- Strong understanding of Australian geotechnical standards and local ground conditions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- NER registration and RPEQ (or eligibility).
- CPEng accreditation highly regarded.
- Exceptional technical report writing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability, with a practical engineering mindset.
- Experience managing multiple projects while maintaining high technical standards.
- Confidence working autonomously and making sound engineering judgments.
- Experience with software such as PLAXIS, AutoCAD, CIRCLY, etc.
