Role Summary
A manufacturing organization is seeking a Plastics Processing Manufacturing Engineer to support and enhance molding and extrusion operations. This position plays a central role in refining processes, supporting documentation, and ensuring manufacturing methods meet quality and regulatory expectations. The role is well suited for someone eager to apply technical knowledge while driving improvements across automation, tooling, and production efficiency.
Key Functions
- Perform technical engineering tasks from planning through execution.
- Conduct tests, collect data, evaluate results, and communicate findings.
- Carry out engineering calculations to aid equipment, tooling, and process decisions.
Project Coordination
- Lead smaller-scale engineering or manufacturing projects or contribute to larger program phases.
- Prepare project proposals, summaries, timelines, and progress reports.
- Track deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.
Technical Troubleshooting
- Identify issues in molding or extrusion processes and develop solutions.
- Escalate complex problems and collaborate with senior engineers when needed.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate engineering documents, test records, process changes, and related plans.
- Support change-control activities and compliance with internal standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, production, quality, and other departments to align objectives.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Requirements
- Experience: 2–4 years in plastics processing within injection molding or extrusion.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and project management abilities; capable of juggling shifting priorities.
- Systems Knowledge: Familiar with ERP/PLM tools, basic costing concepts, engineering drawings, BOMs, and general MS Office proficiency.
