About the role:

The Energy and Facilities Manager is a site-level role. This position combines Maintenance Management responsibilities with a strong focus on Energy Management and collaborates cross-functionally with key site stakeholders, including Plant, Technical, Asset, Project Engineering, and Maintenance & Production teams, as well as external partners such as suppliers, contractors, and regulators.

The primary objective of the role is to drive energy efficiency and support the company’s sustainability goals by reducing energy intensity and CO₂ emissions through best practices, energy-saving initiatives, and innovative solutions, while ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. The role also ensures the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of site buildings and utilities, including water, electricity, HVAC, compressed air, and steam.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage and optimize all site utilities and facilities, including water, steam/boilers, electricity and power distribution, natural gas, compressed air, chilled water, HVAC, and building maintenance.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-efficient operation of utilities and facilities, meeting environmental, safety, and quality standards.
  • Lead the site energy agenda by developing and executing multi-year energy and GHG reduction strategies aligned with corporate sustainability and SBTi goals.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report site energy consumption and KPIs
    , identifying inefficiencies, errors, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead energy-saving and reliability improvement projects from concept through execution, delivering measurable cost and energy reductions.
  • Provide strong technical leadership for utility equipment (boilers, compressors, HVAC, electrical systems), including maintenance strategies and replacement recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for utilities and facilities in line with industry best practices and production requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance Management, Production, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure alignment with site needs and business priorities.
  • Lead incident response for utility disruptions and provide on-call support; coordinate shutdowns and start-ups to protect production continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with energy and utility regulations and build/maintain an energy management system aligned with ISO 50001.
  • Support and manage infrastructure, expansion, and construction-related projects, applying strong project and construction management skills.
  • Act as a hands-on leader on the shop floor, coaching and influencing maintenance and blue-collar teams while driving a strong safety and energy culture.
  • Bring strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities, working independently with a proactive, organized, and communicative leadership style, supported by 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
About you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a minimum of 7 years of related experience in manufacturing or industrial environments; food industry experience is highly desirable.
