Amentum’s Nuclear Projects is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, delivering safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction.
We seek an Architectural CAD Designer Specialist with experience in developing technical drawings and documents for our Spent Fuel Handling Project near Idaho Falls, .
EducationHigh School diploma or GED
Required Skills- Proficiency using AutoCAD design software or equivalent programs.
- Ability to revise or create drawings and supporting documents that reflect changes in field conditions per approved design changes.
- Ability to perform field/site visits for data gathering and record drawing preparation.
- Maintain an organized library of project files and drawings per drafting standards.
- Work with design engineers and construction teams to develop documentation covering facility installed services.
- U.S. citizenship (sole USA Citizenship required; dual citizens or visas not permitted).
- 3+ years of experience.
- Experience in architectural, structural, mechanical, process and utilities piping, HVAC, electrical or plumbing design/drafting for industrial and/or government facilities.
- Experience using design software such as Revit, Micro Station, Smart Plant, Navisworks, BIM/3D software.
- Ability to maneuver and manipulate 3‑D facility models for investigative informational purposes.
- Experience working with heavy industrial and nuclear projects.
- Understanding of stringent quality assurance program requirements such as NQA‑1 and/or industrial QA.
- Physical:
Work varies from sedentary office tasks to in‑field site work; may transport light items such as reports, data products, notebooks, and laptops. - Work environment:
Office in Idaho Falls; facility construction trailers on site; may be in restricted work areas. - Critical attendance: 40‑hour week, normal daytime shift, on‑site Monday‑Thursday; attendance essential except for approved leave.

Standard office equipment and computers with required CAD software. - Security clearance:
Must obtain and maintain a security clearance. - Drug and background check:
Must pass pre‑employment checks. - Language:
Read and write effectively in English. - Safety:

Naval Reactors Facility, Idaho National Laboratory, Idaho Falls, ‑2008 (approximately 55 miles WNW of Idaho Falls).
