We have an exciting opportunity for a PLSS Project Manager to join the team with Barrios Technologies, a teammate company.
Space Suits Project Manager Responsibilities- Perform project management and engineering functions for space suit development, including requirements development, hardware development, manufacturing, assembly, and test.
- Manage the engineering team for the specific space suit subsystem assigned.
- Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support.
- Monitor cost performance for their subsystem development against established plans.
- Develop and maintain company and customer financial reports.
- Oversee and develop schedules, procedures, work instructions and process flows.
- Develop risks and risk mitigation plans for rollup into the higher‑level risk system.
- Interact frequently with inter‑organizational disciplines, NASA System Managers, and operational customers.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Typically 5–10 years of related experience, including managing and leading engineering projects.
- Experience with financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; expected to interact with customers and management at all levels.
- Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously, track tasks and issues to completion.
- Knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, environmental testing, and office software.
- Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
- Prior experience working with Space Suits or other areas of Human Spaceflight.
- Detailed knowledge of vent loop gas flow rates, pressure management, and PLSS outlet CO2 control in closed‑loop and open‑loop modes.
- Detailed knowledge of thermal control and auxiliary thermal control loops, including heat removal capabilities, pressures and flow rates.

Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and MachinesStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
AttendanceRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
