Our Nuclear Projects group is a Tier 1 provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, delivering safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. We provide program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, engineering, and construction services.
We are hiring a Resident Civil Engineer for a project in Idaho Falls, , with site work in Scoville, (approximately 55 miles from Idaho Falls).
ResponsibilitiesThe Resident Civil Engineer will be the onsite point of contact for the resolution of civil scope questions and design changes as required. The role requires a strong construction background and expertise in civil site layout, grading and drainage, roadways and paving, and surveying. The successful candidate will also act as a technical resource on specifications, codes and standards, design requirements, construction methods, problem resolution, and constructability issues, and may involve project‑management activities such as writing proposals, change orders, interpreting building codes, and authoring white papers.
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- 3 or more years of experience
- Proficiency in Micro Station and AutoCAD/C3D
- Resident of Southeast Idaho
- 5 or more years of experience
- Professional Engineer license in Idaho (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Prior experience with the Idaho National Laboratory, DOE, and/or Naval Reactors Facility desirable
- Knowledge of building and design codes, including IBC, IMS, UPC, NFPA, and ASME
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried 50 feet. Hand manipulation required for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Occasional need to reach above or below the shoulder, alert to equipment in the field, occasional travel, work near construction equipment, hazardous machinery, uneven ground, dust, gas, fumes, noise, extreme temperatures or humidity, and potential work at heights.
