Position Summary

The Electronics Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting electronic and select mechanical equipment in accordance with preventive maintenance and calibration schedules. This role supports production, process improvements, and engineering initiatives while maintaining strict safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to Lockout/Tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and safety guidelines related to gases, high voltage, and elevated work.

    Comply with OSHA and applicable local codes.

  • Technical Maintenance: Interpret electrical/hydraulic schematics, PLC/ladder logic, blueprints, and manuals.

    Perform PM and calibrations on equipment, including sinter furnaces, ovens, and meters.

    Maintain logs and records for PM and calibration.

  • Equipment Repair & Support: Troubleshoot and repair equipment including PLC systems, magnetize rs, hall probes, and heating elements.

    Interface with operators and vendors; manage spare part inventories.

  • Installations & Modifications: Design, wire, and install electrical controls and mechanical components.

    Develop and modify PLC/HMI code and validate system performance.

    Train operators on new equipment.

  • Project & Process Support: Participate in facility and process improvement projects.

    Support engineering initiatives and testing (e.g., temperature coefficient measurements).

Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.

  • Experience: 2–5 years in a similar role involving electronics maintenance, calibration, and PLC systems.

  • Skills &

    Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and industrial equipment.

  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools, PLC programming, and safety protocols.

  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.

  • Effective verbal and written communication across departments.
