WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
- Design sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA and project specifications.
- Participate in the review process withotherdesign team member sand drafters, as requested by management.
- Create detailed drawingsusingCAD software (such as Auto Sprink, HydraCAD, etc) and perform hydraulic calculations.
- Review all designs before submittingfor approval to ensure they meet Sciensquality standard and code requirements.
- Followall Scienspolicies and procedures during daily work activities.
- Work independently and lead a team to complete all tasks and related design functions.
Routinely work with sales and project managers to ensure the most efficient design while maintaining the highest quality standards. - Assist and provide feedback to the sales and project managers for organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
- Assist management in developing and implementing a quality service program to increase efficiency and proficiencies for the design and engineering department.
- Assist management by advisingdraftersto ensure that their goals and objectives are met.
- Ensure design complies with applicable codes and AHJ requirements.
- Five years of sprinkler system layout and hydraulic calculation experience.
- NICET level III in water-based systems layout.
- Ability to create detailed drawings using a CAD software.
- Experience with fire sprinkler industry design software.
- Ability to read fire sprinkler system design drawings.
- Proficient in NFPA 13, 14, 20 & 24 code requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret fire sprinkler project drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership and time management skills; and the ability to multi-task.
- Working understanding of fire sprinkler design.
- Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- Able to pass background check.
