Chemical Engineer

Support chemical process engineering, facility design, technical quality, and engineering oversight for advanced manufacturing projects. This role is suited for an experienced engineer who enjoys reviewing technical work, validating calculations, solving complex problems, and helping teams maintain high engineering standards.

PAY: $72.00-$85.00/hr DOE

Hybrid, with a few days per week in the Pittsburgh office

SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

• Perform conceptual and detailed design for advanced manufacturing facilities.
• Apply engineering best practices and industry knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.
• Validate calculations, specifications, and design assumptions for consistency and defensibility.
• Perform quality reviews on designs completed by other engineers.
• Review process designs and help ensure alignment with scope, budget, and schedule expectations.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on basic engineering applications and principles.
• Identify discrepancies, errors, and gaps in technical deliverables.
• Champion continuous improvement and attention to detail across engineering projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members located in different regions.

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a similar engineering discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in chemical process engineering roles involving facilities design.
• Experience supporting facilities design in advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or oil and gas environments.
• At least 1 year of semiconductor experience.
• Recent project experience in design and semiconductor-related work.
• Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

• Experience with semiconductor facilities systems.
• Experience using Bluebeam and Navisworks.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies, errors, or gaps in technical deliverables.
• Familiarity with construction deliverables, including P&IDs, detail sheets, and calculations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A coaching mindset for improving the quality of work with team members.
• Experience collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary and globally distributed teams.
