Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electrical and Power Electronics Engineer to join the Advanced Concepts and Technology team in a critical technical role. This position requires deep expertise in power converter design, development, testing, and application engineering, with ownership across the full lifecycle — from analysis, simulation, build/manufacturing, and validation to support for controls, software development, and real-time modeling.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Review customer requirements for industrial, marine, renewable, and naval power converters and identify gaps between customer needs and current product capabilities.
  • Develop detailed electrical and electronics specifications and lead architecture/trade-off decisions affecting components, layout, and materials.
  • Lead the design and development ofhigh-power converters, including selection ofSiC, GaN, IGBT, and SCRdevices, magnetics, gate drives, capacitors, and analog circuits.
  • Own projects from concept through validated solution, including drawings, BOMs, specifications, test procedures, and commissioning documentation.
  • Perform power electronics and system modeling/simulation using tools like MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, and LTspiceto validate topologies and control strategies before prototyping.
  • Analyze grid and microgrid interaction, including grid-tied/islanded stability, harmonics, power quality, and EMI/EMC filter design.
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot prototypes and system mockups, execute validation plans, and characterize electrical/functional performance.
  • Serve as the technical lead / SMEfor converter projects, lead design reviews, guide PCB, controls, and junior engineers, and partner with project managers to maintain schedule and customer alignment.
