The Impact You’ll MakeAs the Assistant Controller, you will be integral to maintaining our financial health while supporting high-level strategic processes.
- Help coordinate and prepare monthly financial statements, perform account reconciliations, and prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, payroll, and 401K administration.
- Assist with the budgeting process, manage forecasts, and analyze cost variances to drive informed decision‑making.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff members in accounting principles and best practices.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, participate in annual audits, and formulate best‑practice policies.
- Coordinate project costing, ensure accurate job cost data from timesheets, and manage industry‑specific tax regulations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and payroll information.
We are looking for a self‑motivated leader who can prioritize, multi‑task, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- BS Degree in Accounting; a CPA license or MBA is preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in construction financial or general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in supervising payroll returns (W‑2s), IRS form 1099s, and sales/use tax returns.
- Excellent communication, planning, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and payroll information.
