What's your day like?As a Full Time Grant Accountant at the Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley, you’ll be the financial backbone behind our impactful programs. Your role will encompass grant financial management, where you'll assist in budget development for new proposals while meticulously managing revenue, expenses, and compliance for all grants. You’ll monitor expenditures to ensure they align with approved budgets, prepare detailed financial reports for funding agencies, and ensure all expenses are allowable, reasonable, and properly allocated.
Collaboration will be key as you work with the Finance Director, Chief Operations Officer and program managers to facilitate grant compliance and communication. Additionally, you'll maintain precise financial records, conduct internal audits, and support the overall financial planning of the organization. Are you the Grant Accountant we're looking for?To excel as a Full Time Grant Accountant with the Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley, you’ll need a solid foundation in both accounting principles and especially in nonprofit financial management. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years of relevant experience, especially in grant accounting, will set you up for success. A comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local grant regulations is essential, along with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to manage complex data sets effectively.
You’ll also need exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to keep track of budgets and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for collaborating with various stakeholders. Being able to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, especially with knowledge of government grants for food banks and community development initiatives, will make you an invaluable asset to our team dedicated to community service and advocacy.
