Consumer​/Residential Loan Closer

General Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the loan processing function for Residential & Consumer loan transactions; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.

Essential Duties:

• Performs a variety of duties to support the loan documentation and loan processing function as follows:
• Verifies all loan information pertaining to residential and consumer lending in preparation for final loan documentation for closing.
• Reviews loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including, but not limited to, type and amount of loan, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
• Verifies loan applicants data submitted and collecting and analyzing information for reporting purposes such as CRA and HMDA.
• Verifies Approvals to policies to ensure they are within guidelines.
• Works with Underwriting, Originating and Branch staff and title companies to ensure all pertinent information is gathered based on loan type (Appraisals/Searches/Title work/Insurances/etc.)
• Inform Originators and Underwriters of discrepancies in title searches, Appraisals, etc.
• Follows up and completes any additional records with regard to the processed loans; completes amendments and modifications as needed
• Ensures additional needed information is obtained through a variety of methods in order to ensure that the proper preliminary documentation has been obtained prior to the preparation of final loan documentation, i.e. Closing Disclosures.
• Works with title companies to finalize Closing Disclosures and send completed loan packets.
• Performs secondary review of other Loan Closer files for completeness and accuracy before loan packet is sent to the Branch or title company for closing.
• Reviews executed loan documentation to ensure that the proper signatures have been obtained, and the loan file is complete and accurate for the final loan file.
• Verifies Recorded Mortgage fees post-recordation to ensure any over payment is refunded to the Borrowers by the Bank or title company.
• Process and mail all early disclosures for Home Equity Line of Credits.

Ancillary Duties:

• Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

Basic Qualifications:

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent.

Skill(s): Must demonstrate strong communication skills; moderate interpersonal relations skills; proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of loan documentation and requirements for completion. Knowledge of documentation software (Laser Pro and Mortgage Bot) a plus

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in related banking/loan processing positions normally required.
