A Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania–based Utility Construction Company is seeking a self-directed and experienced Division Controller to lead and oversee all financial and accounting activities for the division. This role is responsible for construction accounting, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, and comprehensive financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities- Participate in the development and execution of the company’s strategic plans.
- Establish and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including organizational structure and internal controls over all accounting transactions.
- Ensure monthly financial statements and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports are prepared accurately and on time; review results with the Division Vice President.
- Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the division.
- Review monthly cost reports with Project Managers; analyze variances, identify potential cost issues, and assist with project close-outs to ensure all billings are complete and accurate.
- Compile and analyze financial reporting packages.
- Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets.
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate key financial metrics to senior management.
- Provide leadership and support to job costing, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable teams.
- Manage cash flow by ensuring billings are submitted accurately, timely, and in compliance with contract requirements.
- In coordination with the Area Supervisor, track required subcontractor documentation (lien releases, insurance certificates, executed subcontract agreements) and withhold payments until compliance is achieved.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of Controllership experience within a Construction Company (required).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in common software applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
- Exceptional analytical and organizational abilities.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
