Location:
Seneca, PA. Full‑time (40 hours/week). Shift mix:
Days/Evenings (12’s and 8’s, 6a‑6p and 2p‑10p, rotating every other weekend and holiday).
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and clinical procedures.
- Perform UPMC nursing core assistant duties (blood glucose, weight, vital signs, I/O, specimen collection, Foley care) and at least four of the following: phlebotomy, 12‑lead EKG, simple dressing, Foley catheter removal, point‑of‑care testing, bladder scan, straight catheter, IV catheter removal.
- Monitor patient status, document changes in the electronic medical record, and report to the RN.
- Apply and remove restraints under RN direction as per protocol.
- Provide instruction to patients and families under RN direction.
- Respond to call lights, transport patients, and assist with meal trays and telephone communication.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the health‑care team, maintain professional relationships, and support workplace safety.
- Follow all patient‑care policies, safety procedures, and standard precautions.
- Identify learning needs, request assistance, participate in self‑review, and seek opportunities to improve performance.
- Suggest and support process or quality‑improvement initiatives within the department.
- Maintain competence in required core duties and optional advanced skills as needed.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of general health‑care experience or one of the following: 6 months as a UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion; enrollment in a PT/OT/PA program or related healthcare training program with at least one clinical rotation; or completion of a bachelor’s degree in a health‑sciences field.
- Completion of UPMC patient‑care technician class and eRecord training.
- Preferred: EMT/Paramedic certification or current enrollment in an EMT/Paramedic program.
- CPR (Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS preferred.
- Other certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);
Act 34; OAPSA.
